The 2001- 2002 Michigan/Ohio UFHORA season finale was held at TJay’s Raceway  (L-Shaped Maxx Track) in Clinton Twp, MI on Sunday 4/28/02. Great fun was had by all. We raced three classes: T-Jet (round robin), Super Stock and Modified. Steve Davis won the T-Jet support race with some excellent driving skills (with 71 laps). Steve is always a tough competitor in the T-Jet arena.  Jay “punk kid” Minna came in second (with 66 laps), and Dave Bagosian came in 3rd place (with 64 laps).

The next race up was the Super Stock race. In the Amateur ranks; Steve Davis came in 1st place with 120 laps, Jay “punk kid” Minna came in second place with 119 laps, and Danny Monroe came in 3rd place with 109 laps. This race was very close between the kid and Davis. In the Pro Super Stock race Tony Minna came in 1st place with 128 laps, Dave Bagosian came in 2nd place with 126 laps, and Mike Miller came in 3rd place with 117 laps. The P3’s seem to really be dominating the UFHORA SS class this year.

The final race of the day was the Modified race. Things really heated up for this race. In the Amateur Modified race: Jay “punk kid” Minna dominated 1st place with 158 laps, Steve Davis came in 2nd place with 156 laps, and Bob Cole came in 3rd place with 128 laps. In the Pro Mod race “Racing” Dave Bagosian dominated the track with a 1st place finish with 143 laps, Mike Miller came in 2nd with 137 laps (even while mouse hunting!!!), and Tony Minna came in 3rd place with 129 laps.

We would we like to thank the Minna family for hosting a great race, Wizzard for all of the race prizes, and most of all, all of the racers who drove for miles to compete. I look forward to an exciting 2002-2003 schedule, which will begin in September 2002.  See you at the UFHORA Nats this summer…….Mike Miller
