4 Hour Scalextric Saloon Team Challenge !!

Riverside 4 Hour Scalextric Saloon Team Race

NO MAGNETS - NO TWEAKS - just hard racing!
A 4 HOUR RACE FOR TEAMS OF 2-3 DRIVERS
Sunday - October 22nd, 2000

7 Teams assembled for the 4 hour Scalextric Team race at Riverside Raceway . All teams elected to run Scalextric Subarus of various descriptions. The car were all totally standard with the exception of trued tyres.

All teams in the race ran very reliably with just one wheel falling off the Team Subaru car with just 1 1/2 minutes left to run in the race.

Format was 30 minutes per lane with optional driver changes at 15 minutes. No "Rider" track calls were allowed or lost laps counted.

Top Qualifier prior to the event was Andrew Aynsley who ran a very good 5.66 lap, 1 minute segment.

A young Superstar was also born in this race in the form of Alex Young, one of our younger racers who has only been racing for a couple of months and established himself as a consistent and quick racer during the event.

Riverside Raceway will be running a 12 hour race during the Christmas holidays to the same format, with the addition of a Night Section, using the lights on the cars. This race will be for teams of 2 - 5 drivers.  Watch this space for dates and details!
